OBLADADA is a music site run by John Nicol.

I focus on adventurous and experimental music, both newly released and overlooked gems. The common ground isn’t genre or label-based, simply music that we feel strongly enough to write about. We only write about the music we love, as simply, there is enough negativity in the world already.

Good music has immense power, and this is our platform to help signpost and magnify artists and releases that beam with just that.

The site also has a dusting of Esperanto, which, like music, is the nearest we all possibly get to a universal language.

I’m also passionate about nature (fungi and slimes molds in particular), mountain biking in seldom-visited places, and generally trying to be a good person. Proudly woke AF and plant-based!

We make monthly mixes for Camp Radio, which are probably a good place to hear the range of stuff we get excited about.
